Advanced Practice Review

An advanced practice review of organisational workforce, practice, and governance provides a structured, strategic evaluation of how people, systems, and professional standards align to deliver safe, effective, and sustainable care.

 

The review explores workforce capability and capacity, role clarity, succession planning, and the utilisation of advanced and consultant practitioners. It examines models of care, scope of practice, clinical decision-making, and interprofessional collaboration to ensure practice is evidence-informed and outcome-focused.

 

Governance structures are assessed to determine how accountability, supervision, quality assurance, risk management, and professional development are embedded and supported. The process culminates in clear recommendations that strengthen leadership, optimise workforce deployment, enhance patient outcomes, and ensure robust organisational oversight.​​​​

I focus on creating frameworks that are evidence-informed, practical, and adaptable to evolving healthcare needs. By identifying the knowledge, skills, and behaviors required at advanced levels of practice, I help design learning and development opportunities that enable practitioners to excel, while prioritizing patient safety, ethical practice, and professional accountability.

The goal is to provide a coherent roadmap that supports both individual growth and organizational excellence, ensuring that advanced practice roles are well-defined, sustainable, and capable of meeting the highest standards of care.

Scope of Practice Review

I review advanced practice roles to clarify scope and boundaries of practice, ensuring alignment with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. My work involves critically evaluating role expectations, responsibilities, and competencies to promote safe, ethical, and effective practice.

By identifying overlaps, gaps, and areas for development, I support practitioners in understanding their responsibilities and limits while optimizing their contributions to patient care and team performance.

Academic Support

I lead curriculum development and review, ensuring modules and courses are comprehensive, evidence-based, and aligned with professional standards. I design learning experiences that support both pre-registration and post-registration learners, integrating assessments that accurately evaluate knowledge, skills, and clinical competence.

I also contribute as an external examiner, providing independent oversight to ensure assessment integrity, fairness, and academic rigor. Through these roles, I help maintain high-quality educational programs that prepare practitioners for safe, effective, and advanced practice.
